Matthew 25 is an ongoing initiative for the spiritual health, vitality, growth, and connection of our Presbytery’s congregations, in keeping with the larger body of Christ in the PC(USA).
Last year, Presbytery’s Strategic Planning and Organizational Review (SPOR) Committee created a Matthew 25 Sub-Committee to continue nurturing these seeds of Matthew 25. The Matthew 25 Focus is already seeing positive new growth and fruit bearing within the Presbytery.
Additional Congregations are still becoming Matthew 25 churches. Would your Session adopt one or more of the Matthew 25 foci?
This post has resources to educate, train, and support elders on how to identify as Matthew 25 congregations based on what the church is already doing and plan to do in Jesus’ name!
For those leaders unfamiliar with this program, we request that your Session consider and approve being a Matthew 25 congregation. Following this discernment you can join with the hundreds of congregations, Presbyteries, and Synods in the PC(USA) who are serving Christ through this program. Once the session reviews the program, the church can sign up on the PC(USA) Mission Agency website.
After registering you can access the additional resources and keep going with what you are already doing in keeping with your congregation mission, vision, and ministry programming serving in Jesus’ Name for building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, eradicating systemic poverty, and/or other areas helping “the least of these” our sisters and brothers as unto the Lord.
SPOR will continue to work with your congregation and will be a collaborative partner in Christ to help you live into Matthew 25 goals.
Thank you for your consideration to become a Matthew 25 Congregation. Please use the linked resources about the PC(USA) Matthew 25 initiative.
