In this brief and timely reflection, the author surveys the political, religious, and moral dimensions of terrorism. It guides Christians through the many questions and controversies surrounding this horrific phenomenon. The definition, causes, and models for countering terrorism are discussed along with a look at being faithful amid uncertainty.
Family Ministry Desk Reference: Holistic Responses to Contemporary Challenges, Patricia D. Fosarelli. Book. This physician and lay minister provides a quick reference and how-to manual for pastors and church groups charged with the care of families facing difficult situations. Each chapter opens with a vignette illustrating a complex and prevalent problem facing families today.
Plenty Good Room: A Bible study based on African American Spirituals, Lewis V. Baldwin. Book & audio CD. This is a six-week small group Bible study based on six Afr-American spirituals. The songs are on the CD and a student book and leader's guide are available.
Teacher Training on the Go, Keith Johnson. Book and CD-ROM. This is a year's worth of training activities for volunteers working with children. This resource has 52 reproducible handouts and an audio CD with 4 to 6-minute training tips to equip, inspire and encourage volunteers.
The Presbyterian Trustee: An Essential Guide, Earl Johnson, Jr. Book. This is a brief, highly useful handbook for trustees in the PCUSA and the first to examine the office. It explores the biblical models of trustees, the historic background of the office and the responsibilities of trustees today. There is a liturgy for the installation and recognition of trustees, a glossary, and a list of recommended resources.
The Tabernacle, Video - 28 minutes. The video presents a walk-through of the ancient Tabernacle. Hard to visualize scripture about the tabernacle come to life as you recognize the meaning of the many components of the Tabernacle.
The Future That Has Come: New Possibilities for Reaching and Growing the Grass Roots, Kennon L. Callahan. This book describes the seven major paradigm shifts that have happened in the recent years and the new possibilities that are now open for local congregations.
One Minute Stewardship Sermons: Communicating the Stewardship Message Every Sunday of the Year, The Rev. Charles Cloughen, Jr. This Episcopal minister gives a collection of inspirational messages that reflect on the many aspects of stewardship. They are designed to be used at the offertory each Sunday or may be incorporated into the sermon or printed bulletin.

Choosing Church: What Makes a Difference for Teens, Carol E. Lytch. Book. Drawing on in-depth observations and interviews with youth, youth leaders, and parents in those congregations, Lytch explores ways that youth grow in their faith and in their relationship to the church. She helps the reader understand what attracts teenagers to the church and what keeps them there.
Paul's Call: How Saul Became a Christian, Kathleen Long Bostrom. Children's Book. This book by a Presbyterian minister, combines whimsical poetry and child-appealing illustrations to retell the story of the apostle's powerful life-changing encounter with Jesus.
Our Friend Martin: A Magical Movie Adventure, Video. 60-minutes of time-traveling adventure with authentic historical footage of Martin Luther King, Jr. blended with colorful animation as students learn about and actually meet the civil rights leader.
Teaching Children Worship in the Sanctuary, Joyce M. Walker & Carol A. Wehrheim. Book. This book gives a model for worship education that starts with the "children's sermon" and moves the youngest children out of the sanctuary during the sermon time for further instruction and then brings them back into the sanctuary to finish worship.
The Legend of the Trees, Video (30-minutes) The Legend of the Three Trees is a timeless retelling of the classic folktale of three distinct trees, each with its own hopes, dreams and aspirations. They each dreamed of becoming great - perhaps a majestic treasure chest, or a magnificent sailing ship or maybe the tallest tree in the forest. But their dreams didn’t seem to come true. Disappointed and dejected, the trees despair about their existence until they each finally interact, in their own unique ways, with Jesus Christ in His birth, ministry and ultimate sacrifice.
